NYC in Pictures

As I mentioned before, last week CWF and I traveled to the East Coast for a little vacation!

We arrived in NYC on Friday

 Our condo:
The condo was a penthouse level apartment in Times Square.

For dinner we went to Del Frisco's

Saturday
We went to the 9/11 Memorial

I had a cute outfit on until it started raining, then I wore a plastic bag:

The memorial was very touching. We did the tour guided by relatives/people who were there.

Later, my outfit for waiting in line for The Book Of Mormon tickets on Broadway!

Sunday
Spent the day at The Met!

Then headed to a 9 course dinner at Per Se.
Best meal of my life hands down!

Monday
Shopping and hanging out on the Upper East Side
 Lilly Store

 Goyard at Barneys

We were in the Salvatore Lattanzi store at the same time as Bruce Willis too!

Laduree

Went to the Empire State Building at 11pm! We only waited in line for 20 mins (miracle!)

I loved laying in bed with all the city lights!

 Tuesday
Walked Central Park

And then had High Tea at the Plaza hotel

Later we saw Lucky Guy (with Tom Hanks) on Broadway and went for an encore dinner at Per Se (only had a few dishes this time).

I'll recap the DC portion of the trip next week!

XOXO

21st Birthday

What do you get your baby brother for his 21st birthday? I had no idea, so I browsed pinterest and came up with this:

A cake made out of beer!

Every 21 year old boy's dream right?! I thought it turned out pretty cute! And functional, of course! To make it I used an 30 pack of beer, a round tray, paper plates and clear tape (so he could take it home intact).

And this is what I wore to celebrate:
Skirt: J.Crew // Top: J.Crew // Tote: Lilly // Sandals: Monogrammed Bonannos

Linking up with Katie and Steph for the SPD Linkup!

Happy 21st Birthday Alex!

Guest Post: A Preppy State of Mind

Hello! My name is Rachel, and I blog over at A Preppy State of Mind. I'm so excited to be guest posting for Andrea today while she is in NYC. I just love Andrea's style and ideas. Her blog is darling, she is darling, and I envy her amazing Lilly Pulitzer collection.

With it being Memorial Day weekend, I am going to share a fun idea for a Memorial Day outfit. I love keeping the red, white and blue theme while adding a nautical twist to the look.

Dress / Bangle / Necklace / Shoes / Satchel

In both outfits, the red, white and blue theme is the center piece of the outfit with the accessories adding the perfect nautical touch.

Thank you so much, Andrea, for having me as a guest blogger. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day!

Workweek Date Night

I like to spruce up the workweek, who says weekends get all the fun??!

Option #1: Dinner Alfresco

Wear an oxford top, skirt and pumps to work so you can easily change into something a bit more casual after work. I'm loving both of these outfits:
Oxford // Skirt // Shorts // Pumps (my favorite!) // Wedges

I love to eat alfresco but watch out for those mosquito's! I recommend heading to dinner right after work (that way you can still be in bed at a decent hour!)

Option #2: Spruce up your normal routine

Instead of coming home and ploping down on the couch, make an assortment of appetizers for dinner and eat by candlelight. You could also make a batch of fancy popcorn to go along with your favorite TV show!

My favorites:
-Crackers and an assortment of cheeses (think Brie, Gouda, & Extra Sharp Cheddar)
-Pretzel thins and dip (my favorite is the Artichoke Lemon Dip from whole foods)
-Sliced fresh fruit
-Baguette and Olive Oil Dip
-Mini homemade pizzas

What will you be doing tonight??!
XOXO

3. Best. Wedges. Ever! So comfy and in nude- perfect for work or play!

Derby Wine Tasting

As you know, the Kentucky Derby was on Saturday.. which means our annual Kentucky Derby Wine Tasting with my Junior League friends!

This year we rented a SUV limo and headed to a few wineries in Lodi! So fun to see everyone in their big hats and sundresses!

Jenn from West Sac Honey recently joined JL and it was so fun getting to know her!

I placed my bet on Charming Kitten, chosen only by name of course- so it should be no surprise that  I lost! Which horse did you all bet on?

I also brought all the goodies to make our own mint juleps during our picnic lunch!

My dress is Lilly Pulitzer Lacina Dress in the Multi Written in the Stars print. I almost wore the Chin Chin dress, but luckily I didn't becasue one of the other girls was wearing it too!

Linking up with Sami for my Weekend Recap!

How did you celebrate the Derby?
